Gujarat sees BJP win in historic fashion while Congress does poorly #2022

The BJP has been in power in Gujarat for 25 years, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the state has surpassed all records and made history by showing the party so much affection. The prime minister claimed, speaking to party members in Delhi, that BJP support was evidence of growing public resentment toward dynasty rule and corruption.

The BJP steamrolled the opposition, which included the newcomer Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), by winning 156 of the 182 seats in Gujarat with a vote share of nearly 52.5%, riding on the charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who spoke at 31 election rallies in his home state and continued to influence voters.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won five seats, the Congress won 17 seats, and other parties took home four.

According to PM Modi, voters chose the BJP because it was bringing all amenities to the lower and middle classes as soon as possible.

He added, "I am grateful to the voters of Himachal as well, where our vote percentage was just 1% below that of the winning party."

"I salute everyone. Their benefits are abundant "added the prime minister.

According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the "phenomenal election results" have left him overtaken with emotion. "People praised the politics of growth while also expressing a desire for this momentum to increase. I kowtow to Jan Shakti of Gujarat "He thanked the residents of his own state in a tweet. In the state, Modi also praised party members, calling each one a champion. Without the extraordinary effort of our Karyakartas, who are the true strength of our Party, this historic victory would never have been possible, he stated.

In 2002, while Modi served as the chief minister, the BJP won 127 seats, which was its previous highest performance. Congress has the all-time record of 149 seats that it had won in 1985 under the leadership of Madhavsinh Solanki. Modi was given credit for the party's "historic win" by both Gujarat's chief minister Bhupendra Patel and Union defence minister Rajnath Singh.

"The public's confidence in Modi's ability to lead, as well as his popularity and trustworthiness, deserve the most credit for this triumph. He deserves congratulations, and the public is grateful "Said Singh. Bhupendra Patel, the 60-year-old soft-spoken face of the BJP in Gujarat, would remain in his position as chief minister, according to state BJP president C R Paatil, and his swearing-in ceremony would take place on December 12.

With a 1.92 lakh vote lead, Patel won Ahmedabad's Ghatlodia seat. The BJP was poised to match the Left Front's record of seven consecutive terms in West Bengal by focusing on a development programme in Modi and Amit Shah's home state. From 1977 to 2011, the CPM-led Front dominated the eastern state for 34 years.

After being in power for 27 years and going without losing an election since 1995, the BJP overcome anti-incumbency once more. With a 49.1% vote share, it held 99 seats in the previous house. The Congress has reached a low point in the western state of Gujarat, where the party's campaign has largely been carried out by local leaders and has relied on door-to-door canvassing for votes because its leader Rahul Gandhi opted to stay away to concentrate on the "Bharat Jodo Yatra" after giving the BJP a tough fight in the 2017 assembly elections there by winning 77 seats.

In 2017, Rahul ran an aggressive election campaign. The Congress gained or held a lead in 16 seats with a vote percentage of approximately 28%. The BJP also managed to increase its vote total since the problems it encountered in the 2017 state elections, such as the state-wide Patidar community eruption of rage and the traders' unease about the GST regime, appear to have subsided.
