After recovering from a virus, Raphael Varane of Manchester United also begins beside Upamecano, and Olivier Giroud of France starts up front with Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele on either side of him.

The guy who led Argentina to their third world championship in the penalty shootout has a reputation for coming through as the hero in these circumstances. Emiliano Martinez achieved this feat earlier in the tournament against the Netherlands, earning the admiration and gratitude of Messi.
